What We Believe
HOLY BIBLE
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
GOD
There is one and only one living and true God. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal tribune God reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus Christ was both fully man and fully God. We believe in his virgin birth, sinless life, death on the cross for our sins, resurrection from the dead, and ascension to heaven. He lives now within all believers as the living and ever present Lord, interceding for believers. We believe he shall return in glory and power.
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men to write the Scriptures. He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. He convicts people of their sin and leads them into salvation. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His Church. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the Church in worship, evangelism, and service.
MAN
Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ died for man; therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
SALVATION
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.
CHURCH
A New Testament Church operates under the Lordship of Christ. It is a logical congregation of baptized believers, which observes the two ordinances of baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Its mission is to extend the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. Each member is responsible and accountable to Christ as Lord. The Bible speaks also of the Church as the Body of Christ which includes all believers of all times and places.
